At Mr. Roof there are 3 things we love, and in this blog post we will talk about all three. Here we have another community spotlight centered around our Nashville and Raleigh North Carolina offices. This is where 2 of our favorite things converge: Food and community.
You might ask yourself: What does the merging of community and mouth watering food look like? One answer is The Peak City Pig Fest. Here you could find fall off the bone ribs, tender brisket, juicy pulled pork, as well as other great barbecued meats and side dishes.
Peak City Pig Fest
This past weekend marked the end of the Peak City Pig Fest, an annual, 2 Day Festival in Apex North Carolina. Here they featured barbecue competitions as well as a long list of vendors selling their delicious wares. There was also a rib eating competition, pig races, and games.
We particularly enjoyed watching the rib eating contest, which was a battle between the Apex Fire and Police Departments. Only one could emerge victorious, congratulations to the Apex Police Department on their big win, and also congratulations to Mcadoo Heights for their big win in the people’s choice category. This was the 5th year for the Peak City Pig Festival and don’t worry if you missed it, they will be back next year.
Here at Mr Roof we love to be out in the community and we had a great time doing that this weekend. We were able to take in some great local music, meet lots of new people, see some familiar faces and spend time with our community having a great time.
Taste of Music City
We know we’ve already said it, but we love our community. This past weekend we attended the largest food and drink festival in Nashville. I hope you know what we are talking about. It was the 14th annual Taste of Music City Festival! This delicious, all-inclusive food tasting event was amazing. There were a ton of vendors this year, to name just a few, we saw Hap & Harry’s, Heroes Vodka, Stonehaus Vineyards, Old Hickory, and more. It was an opportunity to eat some great food, try new drinks, and enjoy the live entertainment. I hope you made it out, but if you didn’t make sure you mark your calendar for next year.
